DON'T let the cover fool you. DC Comics has not gone into music and neither is this a
soundtrack for any of their superheroes'
movies.
It is in fact an occasionally super compilation of rock bands. There is an attempt to mix
old bands and the new ones but it fails
because names like AC/DC, Led Zeplin or
Aerosmith don't get through the door.
Newer bands such as Coldplay, 3 Doors
Down and The Kooks dominate this compilation, while Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and
Radiohead are accorded veteran status.
The first four songs on the first of the two
CDs are a good indicator of the quality con-
tent of this album. It's hard to turn away
from Keane's Is It Any Wonder, Coldplay's Speed of Sound, The Killers'
Somebody told
me and Razorlight's Somewhere Else. Also check out songs like Snow
Patrol's You're all I Have and The Magic Numbers' Love Me Like
You.
I was almost shocked that I went through the whole double CD collection
without hit- ting the skip button once. This is pretty strong stuff. |
